Baltimore Grand Prix announces Parking Panda as an Official Partner
Parking Panda Becomes Official Parking Partner of Grand Prix of Baltimore
Parking Panda is thrilled to announce that we are now the official parking partner of the highly anticipated Baltimore Grand Prix! In just four short weeks, an expected 100,000 attendees will be enjoying Labor Day weekend in Baltimore at this three-day racing event chalked full of 180mph action on a 12-turn race course beginning right in the heart of downtown Baltimore that winds through the surrounding streets. This year they’re featuring the cars of the IZOD IndyCar Series — a new racecar design for 2012 featuring turbocharged engines — and the American Le Mans Series.
So you have your tickets, booked your hotel, but have you thought about parking? The city is going to be packed. The first races start at 8am—do you really want to spend your morning driving around looking for a parking garage that still has room? Hotel parking is usually out of this world expensive and might not even be close to the course.
As the official parking partner of this event, Parking Panda has partnered with parking lots and garages all over the city available for you to reserve ahead of time and avoid the added stress of finding your spot. We have lots just a few blocks from the course with prices ranging from $3 to $30/day. Once you book, your spot is guaranteed reserved, even if the lot otherwise fills up. Just show your Parking Panda confirmation, and the lot attendant will let you right in. Your confirmation also serves as your payment. It’s that simple!
Given the high attendance of this event, parking is going to be in high demand. Garages will fill up quickly and early so don’t wait! Reserve now and make sure your weekend is completely hassle-free. Check out the link below and book parking for all three days of the Grand Prix for an incredible price!

Otakon Baltimore 2012

This weekend, the Baltimore Convention Center will host Otakon - a celebration of anime, manga and all things Asian pop culture! Join over 30,000 fellow anime enthusiasts for this three-day must-see event from Friday, July 27th through Sunday, July 29th.
Event activities include anime and live action East Asian film screenings, panels and workshops, Cosplay, a skit-based Masquerade show and numerous gaming opportunities. Fans can also enjoy “The Artist Alley,” a marketplace featuring the work of hundreds of writers, musicians and craftspeople displaying and selling their work. Additionally, there will be musical performances throughout the entire convention including Mikako Joho and Aya Hirano.
As the Otakon website warns, parking for the event can be challenging. Park on the street, you run the risk of getting ticketed. Hotel garage rates are off the charts. Even nearby lots are pretty pricey and you’ll probably waste time searching for a spot when you should be getting your money’s worth at the convention!
Take advantage of everything Otakon has to offer by finding cheap and affordable with Parking Panda. Parking Panda offers tons of parking spots nearby for a fraction of what you’d pay anywhere else. Park about a half mile away for less than $6/day! Compare that to hotel parking: upwards of $35/day…
Why waste time searching for parking when you should be showing off your costume?

Parking in the District
It’s insanely expensive, hard to find and most of all, it ruins your good mood. Parking. DC is all too familiar with this maddening daily task. Unless you’ve got a lot of cash to throw around, you’ll be circling for hours trying to find something affordable, not to mention missing that morning meeting. Even when you are lucky enough to find a spot, DC parking enforcement is fierce! According to an article from The Washington Post, not only did DC set a record in 2011 by collecting $92.6 million in parking citations, but the district collects an average of $370,000 in parking fines every working day of the year—and it’s getting worse. Already this year, DC has taken in over $31 million in parking fines and is on track to set another record for 2012. If you find these numbers nauseating, read on.
In addition to fines, the district also receives about $40 million in parking meter revenue from their 17,000 parking meters. These meters are now easier to feed than ever before with the option to pay by credit card, phone, or online. This isn’t a few quarters here or there, it’s your hard-earned money going down the drain.
The hardworking DC population deserves a much needed alternative. Forget driving aimlessly in traffic and throwing your money away; Parking Panda is coming to DC in April. Look for the Panda in the DC wilderness soon and as always….Park Happy!

Parking for St. Patrick’s Day Events in Baltimore
Last March, Catonsville resident Joe Heldman recounted his St. Patrick’s day woes in an article for the Baltimore Sun:
“Here is how the city rips people off: When we found a parking space on Saturday, the meter would only let us pay for two hours. We encountered the same thing on Broadway (where city officials saw fit to give out tickets to those in church). And also true near Duda’s….Why can’t these meters be good for more time? The only reason they are limited to two hours is to make it possible to give out more tickets. Every time I see things like this happen it makes me not want to go back to the city and support local businesses (The Baltimore Sun, March 2011).”
This dilemma holds true for most suburbanites. Venture into the city where parking is scarce, expensive, and aggravating to find (not to mention many meters are only good for 2 hours) or stay in the suburbs. For holidays such as St. Patrick’s Day, with events throughout the month of March, most of the action is in the city. Some St. Patrick’s day events in Baltimore include:
Meet in the Street - A celebration in Canton’s O’Donnell Square.
The Canton Irish Stroll - A bar crawl through Canton.
The Fed Hill Irish Stroll - A bar crawl through Federal Hill.
The Shamrock 5k - A Run & post-race party.
The Baltimore St. Patrick’s Day Parade - Baltimore’s official, traditional Irish parade.
O’Malley’s March - Governor Martin O’Malley leads his Irish band in concert at the Recher Theatre in Towson.
Slainte - Live Irish music and specials on Irish beer at one of Baltimore’s most authentic Irish pubs and restaurants.
With St. Patrick’s Day taking place on a Saturday this year, we know that the number of people partying and partaking in all the great events in Baltimore will be at an all time high. You know what this means? Parking will be at its absolute worst. Don’t let your day be ruined and don’t miss a single second of drinking that green beer, listening to live music, and having a great time. No matter what part of town you’re headed to, Parking Panda has you covered. Log on now and grab a guaranteed parking space for the same price you’ll spend on that first (and probably way too early) beer! Be safe, have fun, and most importantly — Park Happy!
